I honestly believe that there is nothing better than seeing all our hard work displayed in the most beautiful of ways, shot by gorgeous photographers in unbelievable settings and showcased alongside the most joyous couples imaginable. We’re incredibly lucky to have this privilege with our beloved business, and today I’m sharing with you one such wedding, ticking every box for style, substance and smiles galore. We’ve been so excited to post this, having to keep it a secret as Lorna & Ryan’s stunning celebrations featured on Junebug back in March!
On 4th November last year, Lorna wed Ryan in a stunningly stylish celebration at Rowallan Castle in Kilmarnock. There are so many cliches surrounding winter weddings, particularly in Scotland it would seem, however this gorgeous couple managed to navigate through fake snow and bedecked antlers to reach an ultimately chic conclusion. Evoking the whimsical, wild feel of this time of year, their celebrations had a truly natural feel, with foliage and bare branches featuring heavily throughout the venue, alongside free standing trees for that effortless air.
Selecting a humanist celebration, pairing this with traditional Scottish elements such as handfasting and drinking from the quaich, Lorna and Ryan’s ceremony felt truly personal. A thread that appears to run throughout their day, Lorna and Ryan’s wedding seems stunningly intimate, with lashings of joy as their friends and family gaze lovingly upon the newly weds throughout their vows.
The stunning images are courtesy of the truly gifted Gibsons. We could wax lyrical all day long about their style, subtlety and astounding shots, and this wedding was no exception. Creating beautiful moments, easily missed to the passer by, but endlessly important to those experiencing them, is a true art, and one which the Gibsons appear to achieve oh so effortlessly (it must however, make it a wee bit easier with such a handsome couple!)
Opting for a glorious grey undertone, Lorna’s bridal style is one for the ages. A bride in a unique grey leather jacket is a winner for all future brides to be, especially if it is effortlessly worn across a stunningly original glittering Berta ballgown (could there be anything dreamier? We think not.) Pair this with silver locks styled into a halo braid and some silver Prada sandals and we are swooning at Lorna’s bridal look. Literally.
Gorgeous groom Ryan rocked a traditional kilt in a blue and grey check, seamlessly coordinating with the themes of the celebration to perfection. With bridesmaids bold in blue and maid of honour and mother of the bride both dazzling in a beautiful beaded number, these guys have to be in contention for most stylish wedding party.
Lorna and Ryan selected a stationery suite in marble, hand embossed with gorgeous gold foil, to tie in with their aesthetic. Choosing day items such as welcome signs, orders of the day, ceremony seating information and table plans allowed their suite to flow throughout the day, adding another subtle touch of sparkle to tie in with their whimsical yet modern wintery feel.
We simply adored creating the stationery for this wonderful couple. We wish Lorna and Ryan every happiness in their lives together going forward and pray that every wedding we’re privileged to be involved in is just as beautiful as theirs (we’re lucky to have some seriously stylish couples, so watch this space!)
