with Love… this Christmas time

We want to wish everyone a very merry Christmas time.

Sadly, we have lost our gorgeous wee pupster this week- and it has been quite hard to decide whether to share our Christmas card which features our little dude, but in some ways, there seems like no more appropriate thing to do.

Harris was an utter delight to have. He brought so much joy and love into, not just our lives, but to the lives of anyone he ever met (as many of you will know). It breaks our hearts to write this but feel like having Harris has actually taught us so much about the true meaning of Christmas, and we just had to share. This wee dude hadn’t spent a single moment stressing out over his Christmas shopping- but he would have given us the best present we could have ever have dreamed. His pure and utter unconditional love. His happiness and excitement at just seeing us. His continuous cuddles and nuzzles. There is no greater gift than the gift of love. Pure, beautiful, unconditional love. And this is really what we just want to share. Love one another this Christmas time… there is nothing greater. And cherish every single, precious moment. Because each one truly is a gift from God.

With all our love this Christmas,

Jack & Lorna xxx

Paris!!! je t’aime… (2 years married!!)

I might just have the best husband… in the world… EVER!!!!

On Monday we celebrated our 2nd Wedding Anniversary in the one and only city of love… PARIS! Unknown to me, Jack had booked and organised everything on the sly and completely and utterly whisked me away and surprised me. I am so glad I married him! (for more than just the romantic breaks). Anniversaries are so worth celebrating though. It’s pretty damn special and I’m guessing many of you reading this will be more looking forward to the actual getting married part right now, which is amazing… but after the big day has come and gone, celebrating your Love all the best bits for the rest of your lives is pretty awesome too!!!

One of the other most super things about celebrating at this time of year is that you get the Christmas festivities wherever you go, so naturally we have so many lush photos from the weekend which I wanted to share. You can’t as much as turn your head without seeing something more gorgeous than the next in that city so I am full of Inspiration for some new designs too. In true Parisian style, even the Christmas trees were stylish and chic. My absolute favourites being Repetto’s giant pink fluffy one with gold tree-rings! The sparkly Eiffel Tower, the Laduree macaroons, their fabulous packaging, the wine, the food, the chocolate, the “no-rain” (every Glaswegian said “Amen!”) and most of all celebrating love and marriage with my utterly gorgeous and wonderful husband.

Paris… and Jack… je’taime!!!!!!!

Three Sisters Bake

On Saturday Jack and I  took a little weekend trip with my brother and his beautiful fiance to the recently opened Three Sisters Bake Cafe, in the idyllic Quarries Village.

We met Nichola (one of the baking sisters) at the GWC Wedding Fayre last week, who was (very calmly) showcasing their cakes despite the fact their Cafe was about to have its grand opening in like 2 days time! (respect)

Not one to pass up the opportunity to try some new coffee & cake, we headed straight down at the first opportunity we could.  From the moment you turn into Quarriers, into streets named Love/Peace/Faith Avenue you know you have entered somewhere really special. Everything looks gorgeous, even in the pouring rain and Three Sisters Bake is just a haven of indoor loveliness at the top of the village. Between us all, we made our way through a substantial amount on the menu and everything was YUM! Absolutely gorgeous, quirky and delish, with the friendliest staff- what more could you want in a Cafe?

If you are anywhere nearby, GO VISIT!! We highly recommend. Even if you are nowhere nearby, still go visit. It’s well worth a trip.

Oh, and they have a brilliant gift selection and deli too- so if there was anything else you would want from your Cafe, that’d probably be it covered now!

We really LOVE Three Sisters Bake and wish the girls all the success in the world!!

GWC Wedding Fayre

A little peak into the Glasgow Wedding Collective Vintage Style Wedding Fayre, which took place on Sunday.

Thought I’d leave the real photography to a few of the photo genius’s (genui?) who were showcasing their wares (Chistopher Currie, Mirrorbox… to name but a few) but for a wee sneak peak, the iphone does me, and you, just grand!

Above: Jack and I in full wedding stationery chatting action; Utterly lush flowers from one of Glasgow most talented florists, Sophie at I Heart Flowers ; and the infamous Gramophone provided for cranking some tunes by the ever lovely Butler and Taylor.

If you haven’t seen any of the above listed suppliers before, do yourself a favour and check them out- you will be blown away by the gorgeousness and talent! Better still, check out the GWC page where you can find us all, plus many more of the handpicked wedding suppliers throughout Scotland.

PSYBT Awards

20110916-023349.jpg
Today we were invited to the PSYBT Regional Business Awards as one of their finalists and are delighted to say that we were selected as the 2011 Runner Up! It was all a bit exciting really and we are absolutely over the moon, not only for e.y.i.love but for the winner, Nick Cohen, with his business PCR Computer Services. Nick is only 21 and has already opened two premises for his computer repairs business with loads of plans for expansion (amazing!!) It was brilliant to hear all his chat, and the encouragement from the Prince’s Trust too (especially the bit where they said, “This prize money is for you- not your business. Go book yourselves a nice weekend away somewhere.”
Oh… OK!!!!!!!

Anthropologie (& Harris!)

20110909-022850.jpg
Yesterday we decided to take a little ‘research’ trip through to the burgh (i have a lovely glam assistant with me this week whilst Natasha is on work experience with us) so we took a trip to see the other side of my work in the Textile Department at the Art college and then take in a few of the cities best shops. Even Harris was welcome in the latest addition to the city and my absolute favourite, Anthropologie. If you haven’t visited the new Anthropologie store yet, do!! It’s completely amazing. Like, EVERYTHING is so lush and would be very welcome in our flat or in my wardrobe. Harris absolutely loved it too!!

Glasgow Girls Wedding Fayre, Partick Burgh Hall

Yesterday we had a fab day with The Glasgow Girls at their wedding show in Partick Burgh Hall. The girls really look after us well (as you can see from Jacks endless supply of tea!) and we met so many lovely new faces.

Thanks to all who stopped by and had a chat with us. Hope you had a great day too and got lots of ideas for your wedding and maybe even booked up with some of the other suppliers showing their wares yesterday. One of our fav’s from yesterday (and all days for that matter) are Butler and Taylor with their extensive collection of vintage china, props and tableware (see above), all of which is available for hire across Scotland and delivered in their very own campervan. These girls are seriously talented and can even gramaphone DJ for you too!  For more information on Butler and Taylor, visit their fantastic new website here.

“The event will be the main launch for the Glasgow Wedding Collective with a selection of local talented suppliers showcasing their work. Expect everything from old-fashioned china tableware, to eclectic wild flowers, some unusual stationery, jewelry and headwear, vintage style photography and to die for delicious and unusual homemade cakes.”

Hopefully we’ll see you there!

Thank you to everyone who came along to visit us at The Royal Concert Hall Wedding Show over the weekend. It was a ball, as always… And we loved meeting so many new couples and a few familiar faces now too (we always end up near someone dishing out way too much delish chocolate at these shows and leave perhaps a few pounds heavier!) We have a giant email list to get through over the next few days so if you are checking here and we have yet to contact you, please be assured- it is coming! (We promise!) Infact, less chat here and I am off to hit the email right now… x
