I LOVE

Introducing our beautiful baby boy!

Our beautiful baby boy, Judah Jackson McGinnigal, entered the world and stole our hearts on Wednesday 19th December, 2012.

He is the most beautiful little tiny person we ever did meet (we may be a little biased) but he really is just so utterly perfect. We are besotted with him and haven’t done a whole lot over the last month other than stare at his beauty, show off his cuteness (amidst feeding and burping and the usual baby mallark) and generally fall more and more in love with him everyday. He is such a wee miracle and the best gift from God we ever did receive.

Every time I’ve even tried to think about updating the blog, along he would come with another round of sweet smiles or the cutest little hiccups one ever could hear… and then passed another week or so! Anyway here I am (eventually) and I’m pretty sure after seeing these pics (or ever being around a newborn baby) you will all understand. Mesmerising is the word. Happy are our hearts. And Thankful are our souls. xx

3 Years Married!!!

Tomorrow, 28.12.12, is our Anniversary!!!

3 Years of happy marriage… something worth a celebration for sure! And celebrate we will do…

Our lovely family, always so kind, have treated us to a stay at the super posh & fancy Mar Hall so we are heading down in the morning for a day of pampering and ultimate relaxation. Just what the Dr. ordered for this super pregnant state!

With now less than 3 weeks to go before our little peanut enters our world, we will be making the most of every peaceful moment we have together as just the two of us (well, kind of!)

And with that, I am off to finish up work for the day, Invitations are waiting and apologies for the soppiness (must be the baby-brain!) but Marriage really, truly is a wonderful thing!!

A Gift to Remember

With Christmas just around the corner (Eeeeeeeeeeeeek!) gifts seem to be what’s on everyones minds. If you as much as have an email address I am sure you know what I mean. Continual suggestions of gifts we may like (or need?) and discounts to be had seem to infiltrate my inbox on an hourly occurrence without as much as going anywhere near the High Street.

We thought we’d jump on the bandwagon, in a much less in your face way of course… but all the same, offer a lovely little gift, be it for Christmas or beyond.

We are now offering large format prints of your Wedding Stationery, be it your Invitation design, your Vows, or something entirely bespoke created with your living room wall in mind. We are offering unframed prints in A3 & A4 format as a perfect momento of your special day. Why keep those beautiful designs locked away in a drawer, when you can them on display for all to see, forevermore!

In the New Year we shall be launching a full range of prints to buy online, so keep your eyes peeled for their arrival. For now, we leave you with this little thought… to Give a Gift to Remember this Christmas! xx

Happy Monday

A series of thoughts, events and a little of who we are to read and enjoy.

The concept of blogging regularly hasn’t been met with an awful lot of enthusiasm by me. However with many events up and coming and a new sense of love for social media I have finally decided to create a series every Monday (hopefully) of things which we are doing, different things we stumble upon which either inspire us or we just love for what it is and some thoughts.

Many thanks to the help of Tailor Made Social for their insights into the world of Social Media and their helpful instruction.

What an amazing weekend!!

Friday Night:

Well Friday night was spent watching bits and pieces of children in need, which was amazing when I saw the final figure, recession or not people want to help each other.

Saturday:

Saturday Lorna and I were at the Cameron House at a leadership conference. Before the conference we had an absolutely amazing breakfast!  I mean I seriously ate my body weight in food.  Thanks to our friend Karen for her generosity.

The conference topic was on “how to lead bigger” and ultimately think bigger.  This was something which I have heard a lot about but hadn’t paid all that much attention to, especially when it comes to business.

With a small business you can tend to see yourself as small and not making an impact on those around you. However I am realising that if you decide to think that way you are seriously never going to reach people and impact them.  What does that have to do with making wedding stationery?  Well everything for us.  We believe in what we do and what we offer people.  We also know that what we bring to our lovely customers, our unique take on their wedding.  So if you have little impact, you only reach few.  When your impact is great, guess what? You can reach more people and give them a product and service which we completely believe in.

On a slightly lighter note a fun trip into Glasgow town saw us head into a very packed cinema to see the new Twilight movie Breaking Dawn Part Two.  I have to say I have been completely converted, the first ever movie wasn’t the best but after that  I just got more and more into it.  The newest movie is amazing and you so don’t expect the twist at all.  It really was great.  Plus you leave the movie (which I think is important) with a sense of excitement as to what the rest of their lives might look like.

EYILOVE Update:

Finally as some of you may know, we are expecting our first little cute baby this December!  We are so excited and seriously can’t wait to become parents.

Photographing in the light

Today I have a new appreciation of light, and how it really is a photographers best friend/ worst nightmare. For all our lovely wedding photographer friends out there- I feel your love/ pain- whatever the case may be on the day! In our new daylight saving timezone, in the city of Glasgow which is all too often clouded over with grey, we have a lot less of this lovely light than one may wish for when trying to get a job done. Today being my case in point.

Today I am (very much trying) to photograph some of our most recent wedding stationery collections to put up on the website.

All our beautiful invitations, RSVP’s, information cards and placecards etc are all patiently lined up in order, just waiting for their big moment. And the light, well, it very rarely wants to work with me! Perhaps I need a little lesson or two in using a flash, a flash gun or (heaven help me) even some artificial lights (All very scary thoughts for a semi-professional amateur) Perhaps… One day. Today I think I will simply bide my time and wait for the light.

these are a few of our favourite (Glasgow Wedding Collective) things!

We had such a lovely day yesterday down at the Glasgow Wedding Collective Wedding Fayre showing off our new wedding stationery wares to the vintage masses. Our day was filled chatting with loads of lovely couples planning their Glasgow wedding for next year, (thanks to all who came by and chatted with us) and of course, taking some time to peruse all the other lovely wedding suppliers stalls too. Made for a very nice wee day indeed!

so, as the old song goes… these are a few of our favourite things (from the show)

Gorgeous vintage china and prop hire from the ever lovely girls at Butler and Taylor, vintage floral magic from I Heart Flowers and the most pretty and equally delish wedding cakes from the girls at Three Sisters Bake.

Friday afternoon finishing many book themed wedding invitations

As our evenings draw in and Autumn is well and truly upon us, our Friday afternoon in the e.y.i.love studio has been filled with colours and textures which truly reflect the season. Gone are the summer brights and lights, and in replace of them come more darker, earthy tones and stationery which reflects what we all want in the coming months; warm cosy colours and a good book!

This week we have been working on many book themed wedding invitations, styling both the classic and the contemporary wedding.  If you would like to incorporate your love of books into your wedding stationery, please check out our range of penguin inspired invites here. Our book style invitations can be printed in any colour and we have a full range of matching wedding day items available too. From bookmark placecards and library tickets, to Order of the Day books and classic table plans, we have it all going on this week, trust me! No doubt, some more lovely images will follow soon but for now- enjoy this little sneak peak into the studio… and have yourself a very lovely Autumnal weekend! x

GWC Vintage Wedding Show 14th of October

Glasgow Wedding Collective Wedding Fayre Flyer

It’s that time again folks, the Glasgow Wedding Collective are hosting their fourth vintage wedding show at the Hillhead Bookclub on October 14th.

The GWC was started by our lovely friends Chris and Gillian.  Their aim “to handpick and bring together a selection of exciting independent and vintage style wedding suppliers from throughout Scotland”.  They did just that, bringing together a range of fantastically creative and unique wedding suppliers that are all that little bit different. “The GWC showcases all that’s good and unique in the industry and give brides a chance to create a day in their own individual style”. -GWC Website

The GWC vintage wedding shows are an absolute joy to be apart of, we love them!!  Please come along, grab a tea and have a natter with some of the best (banterous!!) wedding suppliers Glasgow has to offer.

Wedding Stationery and Glasgow Love

We, team EYI LOVE, are absolutely in love with our home city of Glasgow.  Yes it may rain quite a lot, but if you come from this city you learn to appreciate it in all of it’s charm and whenever we do get a sunny day (like today) well, there really is no finer city!  Lorna and I were chatting the other day about just how much we really love Glasgow and how it’s history and vintage charm has inspired the wedding stationery we create for all our lovely Glasgow brides. Our famous, vintage save the date postcards are a great example of this. (keep posted for more images launching on our website over the coming weeks)

Wedding locations and venues around the city, have been a great source of inspiration for many a beautiful wedding invitation we have created over the last couple of years.  Vintage postcard fronts with beautiful foil blocking on the reverse creates a truly incredible invitation.  They seem to have that mix of vintage quirkiness and classic elegance that our Glasgow brides (and grooms, of course!) seem to love. One of our personal favourites has been a vintage invitation featuring Glasgow’s Central Station, the famous location/venue, now back to it’s former glory as one of Glasgow’s finest wedding venues. We met Angela and Mick, who where getting married in Grand Central Hotel, around this time back in 2011.  They wanted to capture the buzz of Glasgow’s Grand Central within their wedding stationery and really set the tone of their wedding. The invitation we created was a very grand looking vintage postcard of old central station with a faded formal invite on the back.  These were accompanied by old train tickets, serving as their “passenger information”  cards, transporting guests from the 1800′s into the year 2012.

We love the idea of mixing the old and the new and perhaps have planted some creative ideas for future wedding stationery we can create. Whether it be our favourite iconic Glasgow, or of other cities (which we do know, are available too!)

Hitting up the S.E.C.C. Wedding Show!

A MASSIVE thank you to all the lovely couples, bridesmaids and wedding entourages who came and chatted with us over the weekend at the S.E.C.C. Wedding Show.

We hope you all survived the madness and had a ball- whilst finding lots of inspiration and super wedding suppliers for your big day.

We had a great time over the weekend and met so many lovely people, both new and old. Much to our delight there were many other expanding business’s (there seems to be a bit of a babyBOOM in WeddingIndustryLand!) We were definitely in good company with our bump… and we even met a few little new bambino’s too!

CONGRATULATIONS to one and all, whether recently engaged or any of the above. Happy, happy times, both now and ahead.  x

P.S. Check out a few of our wedding weekend fav’s. For Cakes, Three Sisters Bake or for Photobooths, look no further than LOOKLOOK. You won’t go wrong with these guys!

12 days in the sun… & now back to the drawing board!

Pure bliss… what more can we say? Sunshine, sea, scenery, where time means nothing and our days are filled with some major loves, relaxation, reading and mmm, delish food… (and growing pregnant bellies of course!)

Thankfully we do love our job too, so it keeps the bittersweetness of the holiday return (mostly) on the sweet side!

Needless to say, this week we have lots to catch up on emails a plenty, October weddings to complete and a wedding show to organise at the S.E.C.C. this weekend no less. I better really get back the drawing board right enough (before Jack cracks out the whip!) xx

H O L I D A Y

It is that time of year again when Jack and I shall be jetting off to sunnier shores, basking in the Vitamin D and living it up on the lilo’s!

WE CANNOT WAIT!!

Actually, our original plan was to go a little later in the year when the UK wedding season had came to a quieter point, but alas, when you have a baby in your belly, it turns out you have a sell by date on the aeroplanes- so we quickly booked up!

We are so, SO thankful for the very kind help of our ever lovely couples who have been so great over the last few weeks, really helping us complete our September orders in such good time. Knowing we can head off tomorrow with all our stationery wares complete and in the safe hands of our beautiful brides makes the holiday feeling even better.

We will be back to the drawing boards (and emails etc) on Monday 10th September.

Till then our lovely ones… have a great couple of weeks, thank you for being amazing and BON VOYAGE!!! xx

This week at E.Y.i Love, (myspace), Facebook , whats the difference??

In case you are wondering from the title, I am completely aware the difference between the two social media franchises.  One doing better than the other I may add.

However since my interest in social media has rekindled of late I think I have warped back in time to when I was 17 and using myspace.  Literally for an entire week I have called Facebook mySpace….Lorna is beginning to go insane and has given up correcting me….

Anyway back to why I have been on Facebook so much this week.  Since joining the business full time (Yay!!), I have been promising Lorna that I would upload some desperately overdue new images onto our website and update Facebook.  Needless to say I didn’t and on Monday I decided that with (three), sorry five months of opportunity and no result, enough was enough.

So yes I did an I am super excited to let you all know and also let you see, attached below is the link to the photo album.

E.Y.i Love Facebook

For all who haven’t checked them out please do!!

This week has also been the start of a website transformation which I hope will be complete by the end of next week.  The same sleek website but with new and improved features and a lot more images for you all to look at.

Finally I would like to show the result of what hard work and dedication do to small cute members of our team…. (above)

Rudi is the best, we love him!

Enjoy your weekend.

Jack.

Jack’s First Blog

Hi all!!

Jack here trying out my first Blog. All a bit new to me this writing something interesting thing, however I thought that I should start and let you all know something interesting that has been happening this week at eyilove.

We have been waiting in for parcels to get delivered for my brother in law and his new wife (Yay!!) before the return from their magical honeymoon.

So yes all exciting being self employed.  Lorna mentioned in our last post that I gave up my engineering job and am now employed full time with eyi love.  This by the way I absolutely love!  even if Lorna and I do genuinely have serious discussions (not arguments) over the rather limited desk space in our studio.  I have suggested that we hire those big inflatable gladiator sticks with the puffy ends and just have it out, for all out domination of the studio space however this was met with a less than enthusiastic response.  Perhaps rightly so because we both know who would win and there would be tears, (neither of us are good losers).

So anyway since our blog is an I love, I would like to share something that I am loving at the moment.

Without any doubts not even a close second to Lorna but still something dear to my heart.

Love it or hate it it’s the best substance in the world!!!

Around the studio… and beyond!

Admittedly, we have been the worst bloggers in the world of late. I say ‘we’, but what I really mean is ‘I’. But since Jack packed his engineering boots in a couple of months ago to join e.y.i.love full time (eeeeee!!!) it has just been the best to say ‘We’, a LOT! It has been quite an adventure so far (albeit a very busy one in peak wedding season), working together , fighting over desk space and who makes the tea, but ‘we’ have been loving every minute. (I think I speak for both of us here! Maybe when jack starts blogging he will tell you a different story, but as yet that has still to be seen!)

News on the e.y.i.love front of late… has just been weddings, weddings, and more, you guessed it… weddings!! Pretty stationery and summer (?!) lovin’. We seem to have developed our very own monsoon season here in Glasgow so it hasn’t seemed so bad being glued to our computers and printing machines. On the odd day that Jack starts pulling out the bunny masks, we know we have had one too many late night.  On the one weekend in which we did have sun, we escaped to Tiree to visit friends and bask on their glorious beaches. As you can see above, Rudi enjoyed his very first sea swims. (& he is still the absolute cutest little puppy ever).

This week we have launched our store on notonthehighstreet.com which has all been very exciting. It went live yesterday and today we have received our very first order. Delighted to say the least! For now though, we shall stay focused on our current couples and fabulous weddings, and celebrate a very special one this weekend as my baby bro gets married!!! Ciao Bella’s!! x

The GWC goes bigfatscottishtweetup

So, last night we hit the town with the wedding glitteratti and headed on down to the  big fat scottish tweet up at 29.

&

We.Had.A.Ball.

MASSIVE thanks to all who made this all possible. (Mrs P&P)

and how FUN, and slightly embarrassing are smilebooths!!

Happy New Year… and baby it’s back!!

Happy New Year to one and all!

And especially to all those newly engaged’s,the betrothed for the year ahead (and the still to meet’s too! maybe 2012 has some happy surprises in store!)

What better way to start your wedding year than coming on down to the Hillhead Bookclub on Sunday for The Glasgow Wedding Collective’s 2nd Vintage Style Fayre.

A lazy afternoon of vintage wedding perusing with Glasgow’s finest wedding suppliers awaits you.

We will be there, sipping from some mismatched cups and teapots (in true Bookclub style chic), ready to show you our stationery wares. Come and say hello!

with Love… this Christmas time

We want to wish everyone a very merry Christmas time.

Sadly, we have lost our gorgeous wee pupster this week- and it has been quite hard to decide whether to share our Christmas card which features our little dude, but in some ways, there seems like no more appropriate thing to do.

Harris was an utter delight to have. He brought so much joy and love into, not just our lives, but to the lives of anyone he ever met (as many of you will know). It breaks our hearts to write this but feel like having Harris has actually taught us so much about the true meaning of Christmas, and we just had to share. This wee dude hadn’t spent a single moment stressing out over his Christmas shopping- but he would have given us the best present we could have ever have dreamed. His pure and utter unconditional love. His happiness and excitement at just seeing us. His continuous cuddles and nuzzles. There is no greater gift than the gift of love. Pure, beautiful, unconditional love. And this is really what we just want to share. Love one another this Christmas time… there is nothing greater. And cherish every single, precious moment. Because each one truly is a gift from God.

With all our love this Christmas,

Jack & Lorna xxx

Paris!!! je t’aime… (2 years married!!)

I might just have the best husband… in the world… EVER!!!!

On Monday we celebrated our 2nd Wedding Anniversary in the one and only city of love… PARIS! Unknown to me, Jack had booked and organised everything on the sly and completely and utterly whisked me away and surprised me. I am so glad I married him! (for more than just the romantic breaks). Anniversaries are so worth celebrating though. It’s pretty damn special and I’m guessing many of you reading this will be more looking forward to the actual getting married part right now, which is amazing… but after the big day has come and gone, celebrating your Love all the best bits for the rest of your lives is pretty awesome too!!!

One of the other most super things about celebrating at this time of year is that you get the Christmas festivities wherever you go, so naturally we have so many lush photos from the weekend which I wanted to share. You can’t as much as turn your head without seeing something more gorgeous than the next in that city so I am full of Inspiration for some new designs too. In true Parisian style, even the Christmas trees were stylish and chic. My absolute favourites being Repetto’s giant pink fluffy one with gold tree-rings! The sparkly Eiffel Tower, the Laduree macaroons, their fabulous packaging, the wine, the food, the chocolate, the “no-rain” (every Glaswegian said “Amen!”) and most of all celebrating love and marriage with my utterly gorgeous and wonderful husband.

Paris… and Jack… je’taime!!!!!!!

Three Sisters Bake

On Saturday Jack and I  took a little weekend trip with my brother and his beautiful fiance to the recently opened Three Sisters Bake Cafe, in the idyllic Quarries Village.

We met Nichola (one of the baking sisters) at the GWC Wedding Fayre last week, who was (very calmly) showcasing their cakes despite the fact their Cafe was about to have its grand opening in like 2 days time! (respect)

Not one to pass up the opportunity to try some new coffee & cake, we headed straight down at the first opportunity we could.  From the moment you turn into Quarriers, into streets named Love/Peace/Faith Avenue you know you have entered somewhere really special. Everything looks gorgeous, even in the pouring rain and Three Sisters Bake is just a haven of indoor loveliness at the top of the village. Between us all, we made our way through a substantial amount on the menu and everything was YUM! Absolutely gorgeous, quirky and delish, with the friendliest staff- what more could you want in a Cafe?

If you are anywhere nearby, GO VISIT!! We highly recommend. Even if you are nowhere nearby, still go visit. It’s well worth a trip.

Oh, and they have a brilliant gift selection and deli too- so if there was anything else you would want from your Cafe, that’d probably be it covered now!

We really LOVE Three Sisters Bake and wish the girls all the success in the world!!

GWC Wedding Fayre

A little peak into the Glasgow Wedding Collective Vintage Style Wedding Fayre, which took place on Sunday.

Thought I’d leave the real photography to a few of the photo genius’s (genui?) who were showcasing their wares (Chistopher Currie, Mirrorbox… to name but a few) but for a wee sneak peak, the iphone does me, and you, just grand!

Above: Jack and I in full wedding stationery chatting action; Utterly lush flowers from one of Glasgow most talented florists, Sophie at I Heart Flowers ; and the infamous Gramophone provided for cranking some tunes by the ever lovely Butler and Taylor.

If you haven’t seen any of the above listed suppliers before, do yourself a favour and check them out- you will be blown away by the gorgeousness and talent! Better still, check out the GWC page where you can find us all, plus many more of the handpicked wedding suppliers throughout Scotland.

PSYBT Awards

20110916-023349.jpg
Today we were invited to the PSYBT Regional Business Awards as one of their finalists and are delighted to say that we were selected as the 2011 Runner Up! It was all a bit exciting really and we are absolutely over the moon, not only for e.y.i.love but for the winner, Nick Cohen, with his business PCR Computer Services. Nick is only 21 and has already opened two premises for his computer repairs business with loads of plans for expansion (amazing!!) It was brilliant to hear all his chat, and the encouragement from the Prince’s Trust too (especially the bit where they said, “This prize money is for you- not your business. Go book yourselves a nice weekend away somewhere.”
Oh… OK!!!!!!!

Anthropologie (& Harris!)

20110909-022850.jpg
Yesterday we decided to take a little ‘research’ trip through to the burgh (i have a lovely glam assistant with me this week whilst Natasha is on work experience with us) so we took a trip to see the other side of my work in the Textile Department at the Art college and then take in a few of the cities best shops. Even Harris was welcome in the latest addition to the city and my absolute favourite, Anthropologie. If you haven’t visited the new Anthropologie store yet, do!! It’s completely amazing. Like, EVERYTHING is so lush and would be very welcome in our flat or in my wardrobe. Harris absolutely loved it too!!

Glasgow Girls Wedding Fayre, Partick Burgh Hall

Yesterday we had a fab day with The Glasgow Girls at their wedding show in Partick Burgh Hall. The girls really look after us well (as you can see from Jacks endless supply of tea!) and we met so many lovely new faces.

Thanks to all who stopped by and had a chat with us. Hope you had a great day too and got lots of ideas for your wedding and maybe even booked up with some of the other suppliers showing their wares yesterday. One of our fav’s from yesterday (and all days for that matter) are Butler and Taylor with their extensive collection of vintage china, props and tableware (see above), all of which is available for hire across Scotland and delivered in their very own campervan. These girls are seriously talented and can even gramaphone DJ for you too!  For more information on Butler and Taylor, visit their fantastic new website here.

Glasgow Wedding Collective

We are super excited about this!

Not only were we excited enough about being part of the recently launched awsomeness that is the Glasgow Wedding Collective… but we’ve also got the Vintage Style Fayre coming up. If you fancy yourself as a bit of bride looking for something unique/ vintage/quirky, there is only one place you will be on the 2nd of October.

“The event will be the main launch for the Glasgow Wedding Collective with a selection of local talented suppliers showcasing their work. Expect everything from old-fashioned china tableware, to eclectic wild flowers, some unusual stationery, jewelry and headwear, vintage style photography and to die for delicious and unusual homemade cakes.”

Hopefully we’ll see you there!

(and for all of you out of town brides-to-be who can’t make, make sure you check out the GWC website here.)

20110830-013717.jpg
Thank you to everyone who came along to visit us at The Royal Concert Hall Wedding Show over the weekend. It was a ball, as always… And we loved meeting so many new couples and a few familiar faces now too (we always end up near someone dishing out way too much delish chocolate at these shows and leave perhaps a few pounds heavier!) We have a giant email list to get through over the next few days so if you are checking here and we have yet to contact you, please be assured- it is coming! (We promise!) Infact, less chat here and I am off to hit the email right now… x

what love is

And…

Holiday Time!

It’s that time of year again…

New prints with Andreja Bistricic

As much as I LOVE making all things wedding-y and paper related- sometimes it is so nice to go back to my roots and work with a little bit of fashion.

This mornings work… some new prints for Andreja Bistricic. Coming soon…

Pretty in the Post

20110630-020206.jpg
This arrived through our letterbox today. We may have had a little something to with what’s inside(!), but more of that to come over the next few months. For now, I shall savour every moment of unwrapping this little delight…

Live music (it’s good for the soul)

Last night we took a trip through to Edinburgh to see the Fleet Foxes live at the Corn Exchange.

They were amazing. Absolutely and utterly breathtaking at moments, and their voices… and their instruments (the never ending list of them) were just so beautiful.

Live music is good for my soul. I really do love it. I love how there is something about it which makes me feel alive inside. And after a few busy weeks/ months of designing and printing, with all the Summer Weddings in full swing- it was a very refreshing midweek treat!

And today,… I am very happy to be back designing more beautiful invitations in the studio (signing along with the Fleet Foxes, accompanying me on the stereo of course!)

Day Dreaming…

“These pieces complete the sentences that the pictures and the words could never quite say on their own…” Shaun Sundholm (photographer)

Like any good match.

Beautiful LADUREE

Sometimes, a Monday morning needs a little bit of beautiful packaging.

And who better to provide this, than LADUREE – one of the world’s finest!

Glasgow City Mission

Last Friday Jack and I took part in a sponsored spin- (10 hours, 10 bikes- YIKES!!) in aid of raising cash (and awareness) for the wonderful work of Glasgow City Mission.

It was an amazing event to be part of and I would say we have both been really moved and challenged by what we saw and essentially, what we were a part of, while we were there. If you have a chance, please check out their website and the work which they do for the people of Glasgow. It really is amazing. Sponsorship can still be received here until Friday, so if you have a few spare minutes and some extra cash in your purse, please make all those muscle cramps worthwhile! We would truly appreciate it!!! xxx

The Royal Wedding Invitation

Thought we should really have a little look at this piece of 2011 Invitational History, since we are in the business of wedding stationery.

Classic, Simple, Gold Engraving… Fit for a Royal Wedding?

(we like it!) Do you?

New Gold Bevelled Cards

Wanted to share these new Gold Bevelled Cards we now have in stock for printing the most Royal of wedding stationery.

They are super thick and super lush. (and come in silver too!)

If you’d like to find out more about having your own wedding invitations printed onto these beauties, CONTACT US here.

Southside Happenings

The lovely people at Southside Happenings have featured us on their “Creative Thursday” section on the blog this week! We are proud to live South of the City, so it has been an honour to be featured on the blog that let’s us all know what’s going on around our streets. Please take a minute to have a read and check out the interview here.

Huge thanks to Lotte at Lotte and Bloom (beautiful flowers, featured above) for recommending us, not to mention all at Southside Happenings…

and to the beautiful Caroline Zak for the pic’s too!

The Royal Wedding

I LOVED the Royal Wedding!! It was so utterly everything we could have hoped for and more from our Prince and his beautiful bride. A friend sent me a link to this and I think it is just perfect. Well, a little cheeky towards the cousins, but… Would it be a British affair without a little fun and cheekiness!

Good Friday is, as it says on the tin… Good!

Happy Good Friday!

I realise (with the kind help of some family and friends!) that I have been a bit slack with keeping up the blogging side of the site these past few weeks. We have just been super busy making so many beautiful wedding invitations for the upcoming summer weddings, which is great,  but it is also so nice (and important!) to take some time out, reflect on what is so good, on the day very aptly named and say “Thank You”.

So, before I head off and enjoy some time with my mum in town this afternoon I thought I would wish everyone a very Happy Easter and share just a few of the things I am very thankful for this Good Friday!

From Top Left: Easter = Greatest Love Prettiest Chocolate Easter bunny from the ever amazing Laduree (we have given up chocolate for lent so I am more excited than ever for some chocolate treats! Plus, their packaging is just incredibly beautiful!)   Our new tiny toy poodle puppy, Harris. An Easter Weekend filled with lots of puppy love is on the cards for Jack and I   …and finally, saying everything I want to this Easter,  Tatto/ Artist Scott Campbell’s Artwork

Mulberry Paper Flowers

Walking past the Mulberry store on Ingram Street a few nights ago I fell in love with their new window display featuring these gorgeously huge pink paper flowers.

A fine example of a brilliantly creative British brand.

monday morning feelings…

have you hugged your monster today?

This tells the story of how I feel today…

You know when you just have one of those mornings. (pic. 1) when all you can hear is the rain and wind outside, it’s so dark and cold and your whole body seems to be whispering at you softly to just stay in bed.

it seemed like such a good idea…

until I remembered all the precious characters (pic. 2) being married and the wonderfully creative wedding stationery that they need.

this inspires and fuels me for the day ahead (pic. 3)

and then I find myself realising that this is what not necessarily what I planned to do with my one “wild and precious life”…(pic. 4) It is way better.

A big HUGE thank you to everyone who came along to the S.E.C.C Wedding Show at the weekend! We had a ball (AND lots of chocolate…

that’s what happens when your stall is right beside the most delish chocolate fountain in the S.E.C.C.  Ooops!)

But we really loved meeting so many new lovely faces, and seeing some old familiar ones too.

And now we are excited to go back to the (wedding stationery) drawing board with all our new ideas and inspirations to make you the hottest wedding invitations in town!

one of these beautiful musical moments

I have re:watched and re:watched this video over and over again since The Brits on Tuesday night. I don’t know, maybe I’m just an old romantic/ emo at heart… but I question anyone who does not shed a tear or two watching this. It has been a welcome accompaniment to our late nights this week as we prepare for the S.E.C.C Wedding Show this weekend and it gets me every time. (well… much more welcomed by me than Jack if I’m honest. Jack’s much more about drum & bass and dubstep- really which pains my ears. But a wise man once said to us that marriage is a lot about compromise, so a little bit of ear suffering here and there is ok for the sake of a happy marriage! ) Anyway, if you missed it on Tuesday due to the final of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding (or any other social activity) please have a little watch/listen.
Simply beautiful.
We have a lot of love for Adele right now.

The real Zeitgeist

Just thinking about ” The Zeitgeist” and I come across this image of Hope from Hillsong Collected.

There is nothing more “of the moment”.

Of all our moments.

“and we have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure…”

This, for me, is the real, true Zeitgeist.

Cinderella Ball

Sometimes it’s funny how trends work. How there seems to be something in the air, a feeling. a mood… something you just can’t quite put your finger on.

But it’s there. It happens everywhere.

The Zeitgeist.

Wikipedia explains the Zeitgeist as “the spirit of the times” or “the spirit of the age.” [1]

This week in the e.y.i.love studio we have our very own Wedding Zeitgeist and it’s the mood and feel of a Cinderella Ball. Three of our lovely brides-to-be have mentioned a Cinderella Wedding Ball to me this week when describing the feel and look they want from their wedding invitations. So, on my hunt for some Cinderella style fairytale inspiration I came across these utterly lovely photographs (courtesy of Blackler’s Winter Wonderland department store in 1949, displayed at the Merseyside Maritime Museum) Lush. Who want’s to go to the Ball?

First Photo = i LOVE iPhone!

This is my first attempt to try using my iPhone for uploading directly onto the website- if this works I’m going to be pleased as punch!! I’m not gonna even say anymore as I’m so keen to find out and try this…
The only thing I need to say if it does work though, is that this above is Glenbuckie House. And it is the most amazing place to spend with your family
, ever.

= Best weekend!

i LOVE i Mac

Yesterday we finally got our new i Mac to take home to the studio and I am so in love with it right now.

It’s SOOOO fast!

*thanks gran and grandpa (and American Aunty with a fondness for Vegas!)

Glasgow Girls Wedding Fayre with some Vintage fun!

The Glasgow Girls Wedding Fayre in Pollokshields Burgh Hall will definitely go down as a firm favourite on our wedding scene expereince so far. We had such a lovely  day there on Sunday and we want to thank all involved for making it such an enjoyable  day. The last time Jack and I were there, we were getting married and enjoying our own wedding day, so it was especially lovely for us and brought back lots of special memories! Needless to say, we can  highly recommend the Hall as a wedding venue too. We had the loveliest setup underneath the giant fireplace where we had our own wedding photographs taken(thanks M.T!) and could not have been beside a nicer bunch of girls. The girls from Butler and Taylor arrived in their perfectly coloured camper van to display their amazing collections of Vintage Tableware and Accessories (all available for hire) whilst Sara of margolily and her beautifully vintage facinators and headpieces made us all swoon so much we all want to get married again. ( and I almost would, just to wear one!!)

So, girls… if your wedding day is still to come- take our advice- follow the links above and enjoy some vintage wedding fun! xx

Apple

This week is turning into a bit of an Apple Revolution for us. After having my little brick of a phone for way longer than most, this week we have decided the time has come to join the iphone gang and, while we’re at it- get a brand new imac for the studio too. I am very, very excited (and only mildly terrified! I feel like a whole technological overhaul is about to happen in-front of my very own eyes and I better prepare myself! Although, in terms of productivity and ease of everything- I think/know it is going to be utterly amazing and one day I will laugh in the face of my fear of touch screens and typepads) So, to ease  into the Apple love this morning, here’s one by the very talented artist Marc Quinn. So pretty.

Happy New Year and hello 2011!

“Hello” 2011… Happy New Year!

…what treats do you have in store for us all I wonder?

WITH LOVE THIS CHRISTMAS…

We would like to wish all our lovely friends, family, customers and newlyweds a very love-filled, fun-filled, ”WONDER”ful Christmas time!!!

With all our gold foiled love this Christmas- (as you can see it even made it to our Christmas Tree! Hopefully by next year, to yours too as e.y.i.love continues to develop our Stationery range. (Note to self: A few New Years Resolutions must be made! But before we are there, we have A LOT of celebrating to do!

With all our love for you this Christmas,

Have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS,

Jack and Lorna xxx

WINTER TRANSPORT

This year Scotland has went a bit crazy with our winter weather and mass snow fall caused absolute chaos with our transport. It’s been the topic we’ve all been talking about as the whole of Glasgow, Edinburgh and everywhere in between came to a complete standstill last week. Even our transport minister has resigned it was that bad… and I, along with half the city rushed into Office to pre-spend our Christmas money on a trusty pair of Hunters to combat the falls.

Amidst the craze, when I came across this delight of a picture from a tram in Milan, I had to share it. (you can always count on the Italians to make things pretty) If the weather reports are true, we’ll all be bracing ourselves for Round 2 this week, so a wee pointer for Scotrail and First Bus. Look this beautiful and I’m sure you’ll keep everyone smiling on those platforms… even if and when you cannot take us anywhere.

I just think this is absolutely amazing, inspiring and more amazing.

i heart. GLASGOW magazine… has launched!!

Congratulations to all of the team at ”i heart. GLASGOW” who have worked so hard in creating the first ever issue of the magazine. It looks amazing and we are so delighted to be part of it!

If you haven’t picked up your copy yet, you can view the whole thing online. Just click above and you’ll see it (and a lovely wee feature on e.y.i.love) in all its virtual glory. Sit back, make a cuppa and enjoy your read!

A Royal Congratulations

The moment we all, (as in the Great British public- and most certainly the memorabilia-makers) have all been waiting for! Massive CONGRATULATIONS to the prince and his beautiful bride to be. Plates, cups and sugar bowls on sale only hours after their engagement! This may be a year of wedding madness… it may go a little crazy, but we do love a bit of wedding excitement.

West End Wedding Show

Yesterday e.y.i.love was out on show again, this time at the West End Wedding Show in Glasgow’s beautiful  Oran Mor. (a venue which Jack and I are more familiar with for gigs than for weddings- but what a beautiful wedding venue it makes!)  Thank you so much to everyone who came to see us there. We met so many lovely couples and talented wedding suppliers too. (who we will definitely be  introducing you to very soon. Watch this space for some of glasgows most talented photographers, wedding dress shops and cake makers!)

All round, an absolutely great day (Jack even managed to sneak downstairs during the quieter spells and catch the old firm game- a major bonus for boys at wedding related events!)  I’m now off to unpack our show boxes again and sort this studio into a  fit state for a Monday morning!

Pretty Studios

I would love to work in this room. This is like a mass of inspiration and loveliness for me… although it’s not actually a studio at all. This is someones home ranch/wedding venue. How amazing is it?

I don’t think we have many ranches around Glasgow (although there is the stables at Pollok Country Park which Jack and I looked into hiring for our wedding venue. When it came to the crunch though, living in Glasgow- I was far too scared I’d need to wear wellies with my wedding dress and I’m really just not that kind of girl!) If we can, however, turn the e.y.i.love studio into something more like this ranch room and I can still wear pretty shoes- I wouldn’t complain. (Jack may kill me though) But pink fringed tables, suspended string bulb lighting and posters from a by-gone era… Dream inspiration studio room.

L O N D O N L O V E

Last week we were in London, and this is a little medley of pictures and inspirations from our trip.

I’m not as good with words as I am with pictures, so I hope I do everything justice here. It was just one of those weeks that was amazing from start to finish. We visited the UK’s biggest Wedding Event at  The National Wedding Show, we caught up with lots of friends, we wined and dined in various haunts across the city (our ultimate fav. being the delicious malaysian chicken from Borough Market-£5 for the meal of your life. seriously!) We shopped, we walked and probably photographed half of London by the end of the week. We then we went to the most mind blowing conference in the O2 Arena. It’s almost been too much to take in and my mind is still trying to process everything… but the one thing I do know, is that all across that amazing city people are looking for love. From youth magazines picked up in vintage shops to the random guys we met on the bus- everyone seemed to be on the hunt for this one thing.

One of the pastors at the conference spoke amazingly about love and from my scrawled journal notes it reads (in big fat capital letters)…

WORK LIKE YOU DON’T NEED THE MONEY
DANCE LIKE NOBODY’S LOOKING
LOVE LIKE YOU’VE NEVER BEEN HURT

“What time is Love?”

I think it’s now.

From the Top:

The Cut Magazine, What’s Your Shoe Story? at Selfridges, Tatty Devine Store at Covent Garden, Gorgeous Sign-age at London’s finest Borough Market, Worlds End Clock at Vivienne Westwoods Worlds End Shop, Lucy in Disguise by Lilly Allen, Screenprint by Rob Ryan, Hillsong Conference 2010, This Little Light of Mine by Bruce Springsteen.

website hacks (not so much)

HUGE big apologies from to anyone who may have caught a virus from our site over the past couple of days. We were completely hacked by a giant virus circulating the blogging world and we are so sorry to anyone who may have been affected by this. I really hope a big fix it will have came your way.

Jack and Phil (our very kind web developer) from 51media, worked super hard tonight and have now conquered the beast, so hopefully this will be the last we shall see of this ugly hack and everyones computers can go back to working as they should.

Chanel Inspired Wedding Inspiration

I like Mondays. a. They are straight after the weekend and b. They are great inspiration hunting days. Following from the weekends enquiries, this is generally when I have some time to get really excited by some of the gorgeous wedding inspiration girls send me.  Pink, black, white and gold chanel inspired wedding stationery is where we’re at today. Too pretty for words.

G L A S G O W

I love Glasgow.

It’s our city and our home and biased as I may be, I just proper love it. Even in its grey rainy state like it is today… there’s always a sparkle. Like the top postcard of an old Glasgow Herald, there’s always colour bursting out from somewhere and Saturday in the city was no exception. Jack and I had the honour of being part of the first ever wedding to take place at the G.F.T (the old Cosmo cinema pictured above) so we want to wish a huge “Congratulations!!!” to the newlyweds, Gav and Penny.

Gav and Penny are a wonderful couple who Jack and I met earlier this year at the Merchant City Wedding Show, when the idea of marrying in their favourite “date place” in the city was only a dream. A few moths later and they are happily married! Designing their wedding stationery and other fun items for their wedding day, from start to finish, was as fun and colourful as the couple themselves. (lots of images to follow soon…)

For now, feast your eyes on these old postcards of our city, courtesy of David at Postcards of the Past. (Thanks David!)

K O R R E S

Trust me… this is the best kept secret (for your lips) you can find. Waiting for you at the top of Buchanan Street (if you’re a glasgow girl) Six quids worth of pure conditioning, colourful gorgeousness. Every bride-to-be/girl should have one!

I Met Up with The King (on a Friday afternoon)

Just thought I would share this wee beauty of a song on a Friday afternoon… perfect listening for designing the tree inspired wedding invitations to!

Thank You Wedding Show!

Thank you so much to everyone who came along to see us at the Royal Concert Hall Wedding Show! We had an absolute blast and loved meeting you all.

In true e.y.i.love wedding show style, we managed to find ourselves placed right next to one of the most amazing cake makers glasgow has ever met! (more about this lovely lady later) So for now, all we really want to say is Thank you Royal Concert Hall, Thank you Royal Wedding Show and Thank you Royal Glasgow!

Royal Concert Hall Wedding Showtime!

Today we are off to set-up our stand at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall for the Scottish Wedding Show this weekend. This will be the biggest show for us to date so we are very excited and a teeny wee bit nervous (but I quite like nerves anyway cause they make you realize stuff’s important to you!) Please come and say “hello” (we are on stall 207 on the upper level) and check out all our pretty wedding invitations and stationery amongst all the other gorgeousness on offer throughout the show…. like the cakes! (Jacks favourite part of exhibiting at any wedding show, hands down, is making friends with the cake makers and continually “sampling” their goods all day long! He makes me laugh, chatting with newly engaged couples about their wedding stationery with red velvet cake exploding from his lips!  But girls- if your looking for an incentive to get your grooms-to-be to come along now too- you’ve got it!)

So we will hopefully see you there over the weekend. ( we still have 2 free tickets to give away so if you would like to get your hands on them- please get in touch asap and we will arrange something with you)

Now- off to pack up the car  x

Favourite things

One of my absolute favourite things about designing wedding stationery is getting to find out about each couples personality, style, likes/ dislikes and infusing this into all of their wedding stationery! It’s like I get taken on a little visual journey of their favourite things… and the best thing about it- is just how different each couple really are. In no particular order (and without giving anything away about any of our couples and their wedding themes) here are a few of the favourites from the last week…

Shoes by Vivienne Westwood, SCRABBLE, delicious pink cupcakes, paper flowers by RIFLE, Mexican Picado Banners.

(i love my job!)

Words of Wisdom

… in a wedding guestbook full of words- more precious than gold.

Carnival Wedding Invitations

This is D.I.Y project from Martha Stewart for any couples who fancy a carnival-themed wedding or who simply like the idea of making their own wedding stationery. Martha’s site is full of tips and idea’s to make your wedding absolutely gorgeous with just a wee pinch of creativity.

Have a look here for some downloads and templates for you to try out at home.

Too pretty for words.

(p.s my top tip I have learned from Martha is that sharing is good! I like it when you see people/ business’/whoever sharing their idea’s and skills with others. It really makes me smile.

hmmm… e.y.i.love has some thinking to do!)

Mark and Carley are married! (Congratulations!)

Mark and Carley were married on Saturday over in Carley’s Canadian homeland. We have seen a few snaps  (thanks facebook/ Jodi) and they both looked so incredibly beautiful and full of love and happiness. We cannot wait for the Scottish wedding celebration in 2 weeks time in the Lorne Hotel, which we had the pleasure of making the invitations for. Inspired by the bracelet which Mark had bought Carley last christmas- a simple “Tiffany” style invitation was what we came up with. We even printed it on a turquoise card (a brave move from the girl known for her minimalism!) End result = Fun and Gorgeous… just like them!

To ride my Bicycle

(if only my bicycle looked as pretty as this one)

I do have a complete new obsession with super pretty bikes!

When we were in Zagreb, our friend Tommy bought the most amazing vintage bike for Andreja at the best flea market I have ever been to. Its like a massive outdoor gypsy-lovers paradise, where you can find all sorts of treasure and gems. Unfortunately- this pink beauty would have far outweighed our budget baggage allowance (even my shoes do that) so for the time being I have adopted my mums old mountain bike and have been happily whizzing away round the streets of Glasgow. (thanks mum) I tried to have an old basket fitted yesterday at our local bicycle shop, but unfortunately it is out of the question on the mountain variety. So until the day arrives when I can buy one of these for all our Wedding Stationery deliveries in true vintage style- I shall be more “mountain-chic“!

(I probably couldn’t cope without the gears anyway!)

HOME SWEET HOME

Well… Croatia was the best!!! We had such an amazing time on our first sunshiney married holiday!

This band filled our holiday days with much happiness and continue to do so as we return to our slightly greyer shores here in Glasgow. Their genius lyrics, ”Home is whenever I’m with you” sum up everything I think today…

and this makes it sweet to be home no matter what colour the sky is! x

Holiday Time!!!

We are off to Croatia to have some holiday fun in the sun- and are ridiculously excited about this!  If you have any enquires or would like to email us when we are away- please do. You will probably receive a little “We’re on holiday” automated response- but we will read/ respond to everything on our return and rest assured, will reply to you properly then (26th July).  Hopefully there will be no stationery emergencies before then! So until this day- Have a very wonderful 2 weeks and enjoy the Scottish (or wherever you are) summertime xxx

p.s HUGE apologies to anyone who has ever emailed us in the past and today has been bombarded with our auto-responses like crazy!! Sometimes technology has a mind of it’s own, or it might just be that my mind and the mind of technology just don’t mix! Either way… a slight technical glitch and a very sheepish feeling stationer!

Sorry a million times and I hope your inbox’s recover!

Now we really need a holiday!!! x

Wedding Blogs and Inspiration

100 Layer Cake is a favourite place of mine to look and find all sorts of creative treats and inspiration for the most amazing weddings! Girls- if you haven’t checked their blog out before- follow this link and be prepared to get a little excited as you find many wonderful ideas and inspirations for your wedding. Today, this is my absolute favourite- purely because the bride is absolutely gorgeous and the grooms laughter and smiles shows they are having so much fun!

Awake My Soul

Sometimes a picture can speak a thousand words to me.

Sometimes a song does.

This song… this band, who bring their music to us “with the passion and pride of an old-fashioned, much-cherished, family business,” (like e.y.i.love!) just  blow me away.

So, dance a little crazy and have a good think about their lyrics,

“where you invest your love, you invest your life”

and then have the happiest weekend with your very awake souls! x

p.s if you are at T in the Park this weekend- try and catch them on Saturday. I have a feeling they will be AMAZING!!! x

ears to hear and eyes to see

I have spent the last few days working to the new sound of this beautiful masterpiece from Hillsong Live.

It is the most gorgeous album with equally gorgeous artwork which I could look at all day long. It reminds me of the work of one of my favourite designers/ illustrators/ makers of gorgeous things from the last few years, Chrissie Abbott. If you do not already know her work- check it out here. It will most definitely make your heart smile (the same like this album…) I am very thankful for ears and eyes right now.

This bus

found here in the diary of one of my favourite fashion photographers, Terry Richardson. Not only does he snap cool people and cool clothes… but just cool stuff he sees out and about on the streets. and this is my no.1. “Spread Kindness to Everyone…” Beats the 44 any day of the week.

Peaches and Peonies

from two of our very favourite local shops on a sunny Saturday morning…

Enid Reid Flowers  has a lovely new shop which we are lucky enough to overlook from our kitchen window.  Enid is so incredibly lovely and does the most beautiful, stylish  floral design… perfect for peonies and perfect for your wedding girls!

Hot off the Press

This month, our vintage postcard “Save the Dates”  have been featured in The Best Scottish Weddings magazine! Very excited. Very glossy. e.y.i.love is hot-off-and-in- the Press for Spring/Summer 2010!

A Very Happy Fathers Day

To all the Father’s, Dad’s, grandpa’s, papa’s and to all the ones of the future… A very Happy Father’s Day to you!

Our family had a very happy father’s day yesterday enjoying the blazing sunshine (Thank you God!!) with a picnic at Kelvingrove park and some unexpected Lindt Fondue! Us kids from Scotland forget the damage which sun can do to your presents as you leave them in the heat. The Golf Ball Fondue provided an abundance of happiness for more than the dad’s in the family yesterday as we all dipped and scraped our strawberries very ungracefully right into the wrapping paper. And this, for me, is exactly what makes dad’s so great. The simple things… and the joy they always find in sharing what they have with the rest of us.Thank you Dad’s- We Love You!

The I Heart Revolution

“The I Heart Revolution follows Hillsong United, as they travel across continents in a cross-cultural journey of music, animation and interviews as they realise every story of hope, love, loss and sacrifice ultimately points to the one story.”

TRUE LOVE.

Expect many an I and a Heart to be moved this Thursday night, as the Revolution hits our screens.

Get your tickets already! x

Pom Pom Love

Aren’t these the most amazing footstools you have ever seen?

For a girl who’s ambition was to own a “pom pom store” (?) for the first decade of my life… these make me smile. I think there may just be a space right at our window waiting for one of these.

Our Printing Presses

These are our 2 printing presses which we finally had fully up and running yesterday… and I LOVE them!!

I can now do all of our printing  with our very own machines! As much as I will miss my teacher, John of foilednapkins.co.uk (he has been  to me what Mr. Miyagi was to Danielson in Karate Kid )  but I am also extremely happy to be able to print away right here, in our very own studio.

I don’t know if anyone else will appreciate them in quite the way I do… but i totally 100% LOVE THEM. These machines have so much history, they have probably printed a million love stories and wedding invitations over their lifetimes…

and will now be printing a million more!

Eye-Candy Jewellery

This is most definitely my last post for the day… but- how utterly GORGEOUS is this “eye-candy

I especially LOVE it, not only because it is possibly the sweetest looking thing and it has a pink love heart (which i have a slight obsession over, as anyone who has ever laid their eyes on any piece of paper I ever come into contact with will know (I doodle them about a million times a day) but “eye-candy” just makes me smile.

When we were thinking of what to call our company, Read More…

Sweet Wedding Cakes

Thought I would just share this little sweet delight of a Wedding Cake from Martha Stewart. Girls if you haven’t checked her site out for all your wedding stationery ideas and inspirations, I’d suggest heading here now (if you have a spare hour or two to be lost in wedding intoxication excitement)

Marriage Celebrations (and the celebratory road trips it brings)

Today we are Celebrating Marriage as many miles away, on the other side of the world, our very dear and lovely friends, Sarah and Craig are Celebrating their Wedding Day! We send them all the love in the world, for today and for their forever together…

HAVE THE BEST DAY SARAH & CRAIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE LOVE YOU.

To celebrate Jack and I are going on a marriage road trip! And also- quite perfectly timed, but today, Jack and I have been married for 6 months exactly! So I am now off to pimp up our car, (just like this one) for a day of celebrating love and marriage and all the happiness saying “i do” brings! xxx

Yves Saint Laurent. Envelope. Purse

How utterly gorgeous is this Envelope style purse from Yves Saint Laurent.
Coveting slightly as an Envelope for your Wedding Stationery anyone?!

…what I do. (and Lisa!)

This morning I have been working on the Order of Service for Sarah and Craig’s Wedding and I had one of those moments when I realized just how much I actually LOVE what I do. I feel like there could be no better job in the world. I’m typing away… word after word about Love. About Marriage. And more about Love. It just dawned on me like a bolt of lightning from the sky that “THIS IS MY JOB”!!!! I make beautiful things for people all about Love. I swear to you there is no better job in the world for me. Sarah and I were laughing about it… like this sudden revelation that this is actually what I do as I design and make Wedding Stationery and I remembered one of my favourite lines in my All-time favourite movie
(cliche, I know- but it is Dirty Dancing!)

Anyway, there is a part in the movie when the Dad is so proud of Baby, telling Robbie all about how she is going to change the world one day, when Robbie asks, “And what’s Lisa going to do?”

“Oh.” replies Baby.  “Lisa’s going to decorate it.”

I LOVE LISA!!!

I tried to find a little clip on youtube to upload as it is such a beauty of a scene, but it was nowhere to be found. I did however find this utter gem! It has been kicking around the web for quite some time now and you have maybe seen it before on the hunt for some 1st dance Inspiration. Julia and James took the web quite by storm when they uploaded their Joy filled dance and I am sure brought so many smiles and happy tears to the faces of girls around the globe.

WATCH, SMILE & BE INSPIRED!

Birthday Presents in the Post!

We are completely in the middle of Birthday madness right now- for the past 3 weeks it has been a pretty continual celebration- so there has been so much fun and excitement which I will post the highlights of after this weekend… as we still have 2 major celebrations to go! However… as you will be starting to guage by now- I am slightly obsessive about beautiful things which arrive in the post! And this perfect little parcel arrived on our doorstep this morning, all the way from Sydney Australia, Read More…

TYPE WELL USED

Often in the mornings I spend a little time finding things which inspire and excite me before I start my day…

This morning this was it. I found this piece of beauty from Beatrice Ward (“the Evangelsit for Good Typography”)

She says it all, doesn’t she?

So inspired was I from the inspiration site below… and feeling all summery and seasidey (what with the two whole days of sunshine we have just had!) I felt it was only right to compile a moodboard for the new mood i am in…(which is a very good mood! ) So I thought I would share it with you all, before taking myself back to the drawing board!

Keep posted to see the vintage inspired, summery designs which will be appearing sometime soon.
